The Binaural Sector has been Imperial territory since the early days of the Empire.
After Palpatine declared himself Emperor, the systems of the Binaural Sector pledged themselves to the Empire for the hope that in doing so, they would be left largely on their own.
They could hope for this luxury due to the fact of being located in the Outer Rim and that the sector is located a good many parsecs from the Core Worlds. This logic largely proved to be successful.
However, the Empire did construct a garrison in the Ledbetter System, on the planet Lukin, which is the cradle of life in the Binaural Sector.
With a population of over a billion sentient beings, it surely would be the focal point of any military campaign in the Binaural Sector.
On the Galactic Map, it is just north of the Cadrel Expanse, and west of New Republic Territory.
The Binaural Sector itself is made up of six systems. The names of the six systems are the Ledbetter System, the Ockus System, the Demelin System, the Hanguur System, the Blaylock System, and the Vertico System.
