Outer Rim War Conduct
I. All participants in the Outer Rim War melee nights are to act curtiously and respectably to the other participants. You are representing your club and in doing so should act with the utmost respect to members of other clubs.
II. There is to be no cussing/highly disrespectful behaviour in the Outer Rim channel. This is to protect the innocence of younger participants.
III. Remember that we are all gathered together in the common interest of Star Wars. The point is to have fun. Please do so.
General Rules
I. All matches are to be either approved by an ORW op or made by the bot inorder to be counted as official.
II. Cheating of any shape or form will not be tolerated and will result in an automatic forfeit. Offenders will be banned from the channel and investigated by the ORW Council for final sentencing, which could possibly lead to the offender being banned from all future ORW competitions.
III. Once a person has signed up for a match with the bot and been matched with an opponent, both persons are now commited to play that match. Failure to go forth with the playing of the match will result in a forfeit for the offender. This does not include games that can't be finished because of lag or another computer problem.
IV. Lag is a factor in the game, and that is known. If the effects of lag in a match are so bad as to make either play impossible, or your opponent's craft or person to continually warp from one place to another, then one may quit the match before the five minute mark, and that game will be void and not be counted. After the five minute mark the person with the higher score may NOT quit the mission before the end, unless their opponent quits first.
V. To report a match to an ORW op, use the following format:
Game Club1 Player1 Pin#1 Kills1 Club2 Player2 Pin#2 Kills2
Example: JK RS Rahj 133 10 EH Jordan 539 0
VI. It is recomended, but not required, that all participants in a melee match be present for when the score is reported.
VII. Each match will be worth one point for the winner's club. See the Standings page for more information on how final scoring works.
General Pilot Rules (XvT and XWA)
I. All pilots must choose the same weapon/missile/beam configuration, unless all pilots agree to a different configuration.
II. There will be no retreating of your craft to recharge shields, or to retain a lead in the latter stages of the game.
III. If your craft has ion cannons there will be no disabling of the other craft then waiting to destroy him so you may recharge your shields. If you are disabled then eject immediatly.
IV. Game settings should be set at 10 min for each match (or 5/5).
XvT Rules
I. No destroying of buoys. Any pilots that destroy a buoy will forfeit the match to the other players.
II. No entering Hyperspace to replenish your craft, unless BOTH pilots' ships have Hyperspace capabilities AND BOTH pilots agree to the use of Hyperspace.
XWA Rules
I. Matches for 10 mintues. 5/5 matches are also recommended.
II. Capital ships will not be allowed to be used during Outer Rim Nights unless both pilots assent to them.
III. The options of Invulrability, Unlimited Ammo, Craft Collisions Off are not allowed.
JK Rules
I. General Rules:
1. There will be absolutly no cheating, hacking, use of cogs, mods, etc.
Those that do will be banned from the Outer Rim War battles.
2. If it's in the normal/original game, both players are free to use it.
Therefore, there will be no limitations placed on normal aspects of the
game with the exception of retreating for the purpose of avoiding your opponent in such a manner that they can't kill you.
For instance, one cannot say, "Let's play CO NF, but nobody can use
Concussion rifles."**
3. **The use of "super grip" (not the normal force power of grip),
protection, and deadly sight will not be allowed unless BOTH players agree
to their use before hand.
II. After a Matchup is made:
1. Both players shall determine which person will host.
2. The host shall choose the map for the match, the member joining shall
choose the level of Force. *
*If both players can agree beforehand on a specific map and Force, the
normal method of choosing can be ommited and those players are free to decide on
the level and force if agreed upon.
III. During a Match:
1. Both players enter game. Neither player can move *AT ALL*.
2. The person joining must say "Ready". Once the ready signal is given it
cannot be taken back. (Both players still cannot move.)
3. Only after the member joining says "ready", can the host say "Go". When
the host says "Go", play commences (start movin' and killin'!) and both
combatants can freely move. Once the "Go" signal is given it cannot be taken
back. There are no timeouts during match play.
IV. Match continues until one of the following conditions is met:
A) Time limit of 10 minutes is reached.
B) One combatant forfeits.
C) A combatant calls a "lag out" **
In the case where victory condition A) is met, the combatant with the
most points at the end of the match wins. In the case of victory condition
B), the non forfeiter wins. In the condition C), the combatants have a
choice of either trying to play a match again, or decide to play someone else.
Violation of these rules of play will result in a forfeit by the offending
combatant. This forfeit must be declared by BOTH players. If there is a
discrepancy, it will be decided upon by the residing Op in #OuterRim.
**Due to the nature of the internet, everyone involved must understand that
latency or "lag" will very often occur during JK matches. If you suspect
that a match is lagged badly, (If you see warping, experience freezes, over 3
second delays in item pickups, etc) declare the words "Lag Check". Once
either participant has said "Lag Check", both players are to STOP play and
ping the other player 5 times by use of the command "t, tab, ping all". Both
players need to estimate the average range of the 5 pings and compare with
each other. If the range is above 650ms, a "lag-out" can officially be
called. As a word of warning, players who cannot agree on if a match was
lagged will have the matter decided by a OR Council member and/or the match
will be thrown out.
Counter-Strike
I. Game rules:
1. There will be no cheating. That includes the usage of speed scripts, syscript, aimbot, autofire, server hacks, rejoining scripts to kill teammates without punishments by the server, money hacks, wall hacks and every other hack/cheat that exists. Custom skins will only be allowed if they do not help the user in any way and are merely there for fun.
2. When someone is expected to be using aimbot/autofire he/she must make a screenshot in the game containing at least 1 skin of an enemy player. Failure to make a screenshot or making a screenshot with no enemy player models (friendly models do not count) will be taken as proof of the accused using aimbot/autofire hence banning the user from the ORW for a variable amount of time, which could include complete expulsion.
3. There will be a 2 minute period in which players are allowed to join and leave the server. Leaving after the 2 minute period without a technical reason (i.e. a "sorry, have to go eat" does not count as a technical reason) will count as a forfeit. If the player gets a connection error from the server, he/she must make a screenshot as proof or accept the forfeit.
4. If after the 2 minute period the teams are unequal, players from the largest team must leave. If there is a dispute as to whom is to leave, the players who joined the latest will be the ones forced to leave. Other players may offer to leave in their place but they cannot be forced out of the game by superiors in rank or skill. Forcing someone out of a game because he/she is of lower rank/skill will not be allowed and any person doing so will automatically forfeit the match.
5. After the 2 minute timer and the equalizing of the teams, the host or admin will use the "sv_restartround 1" to restart the game. If after this period players leave the game for any reason, they will have forfeited the match. If a difference of 2 players is created because of this then players from the largest team will have to leave until both teams are equal again. Those players will have automatically won a point for their club.
6. After 20 minutes of playing the game will end. Players are advised to make a screenshot of the final scores in case someone doesn't agree with the score reported.
II. Signing up:
1. The signup command will be !csadd
2. If there is an argument as to wich team will be T or CT, the bot will choose which team plays for which side.
3. If no agreement can be made as to which map is to be played on, the bot will pick a map at random.
4. If someone disagrees with what the bot selected he/she can either live with it or forfeit, either way it's a permanent decision.
III. Reporting:
Under construction
IV. How Games Will Be Evaluated/Scored:
1. After the game, the players of each time will be sorted by team and by number of kills,
example:
RS Jack 12
RS Jill 10
RS Batman 6
RS Superman 5
EH Spiderman 11
EH Hulk 11
EH SSSD 9
EH Rinon 4
2. After the sorting, both teams will be placed next to each other after wich each line will be evaluated:
RS Jack 12; EH Spiderman 11; RS Wins!
RS Jill 10; EH Hulk 11; EH Wins!
RS Batman 6; EH SSSD 9; EH Wins!
RS Superman 5; EH Rinon 4; RS Wins!
(Both the RS and EH will gain 2 points in this case.)
As you may notice, this is similar as the "Risk" system of scoring. The player with the highest amount of kills of team A (the RS) and B (the EH) will be evaluated and the winner will receive a point. Then the players with the second highest amount of kills will be evaluated etc. until no more players are left. In case of someone leaving after the first 2 minutes (creating a 1 player difference) without breaking the "2 player difference" rules stated above, the player with the lowest amount of kills of the other team will automatically win. Example:
RS Jack 12; EH Spiderman 11; RS Wins!
RS Jill 10; EH Hulk 11; EH Wins!
RS Superman 5; EH SSSD 9; EH Wins!
(Nobody); EH Rinon 4; EH Wins!
(RS gains 1 point, EH gains 3 points in this case.)
Closing
In closing, these rules are simple. They cannot be debated during the
ORW, but can be taken up to question to the ORW Council after or before any
event. Some of the rules may seem strict, but it's necessary to insure
everything runs smoothly and is *ABSOLUTLY FAIR FOR ALL THOSE INVOLVED.*
These rules were created by the Outer Rim Council.
