Greetings RS!

We're halfway through Hammerfall: The Lithran Offensive. Resurrection squadron has leapt out of the gate largely due to the thriving activity of the d6RPG Task Force (regular sessions Sunday and Monday evenings in #allegaince ). However, a host of our objectives still remain incomplete and require your immediate attention!

The objectives (on the right hand Nav Bar) represent the RS's efforts in the Outer Rim, and only your participation can turn back the Titan Fleet's march into New Republic space.

Courtesy of our Logistics Officer FA Michael Raven, here is a glimpse into the ongoing battle against the aggressive Imperials, and all is not well....

-=Bridge of the Mon Calamari 80A-class Cruiser Valiant, on the outskirts of the Aurora System=-

With smoke filling the air and burning her lungs, Brigadier General Teu Veld pulled herself off of the deck plating on the bridge of the Valiant, blinking a few times to try to clear her vision. Her unit, transferred from Cadrel to Aurora to assist in the defense there, had only been in the system for four days before being assaulted by a Titan advance force. Even with her command transferred to the Calamari Cruiser Valiant, the two Imperial II-class Star Destroyers and their supporting fleet were overpowering the reinforced group she commanded. Moments prior, a flight of TIE Bombers had pelted the bridge with proton grenades, and while the hull held; severe damage had been done to the area. A few bodies laid motionless on the ground, and a large fire was billowing out of one of the turbolifts behind her. In front of her, a few officers were pulling themselves back up to their stations, even as the cruiser shook from repeated turbolaser blasts from a Star Destroyer bearing down on it.

“Everyone okay?” She asked, knowing the answer was ‘no’. It was more to let them know that SHE was still okay. A few replies rang out.

“Try to get the back-up shields back online, turn us away from the Destroyer. Sensors, what’s going on out there?”

The Mon Calamari Cruiser audibly groaned as its damaged engines fired, beginning to turn about to spread the incoming damage from the Star Destroyer. The cruiser, renowned for her resiliency, was starting to fail under the combined assault of the enemy fleet.

“Sir,” The Sensor operator wiped blood from his forehead, blinking a few times to clear his vision.

“Most of the enemy fleet has been destroyed or driven off, but those two Star Destroyers are almost pristine. Our forces are spread thin and heavily damaged. I’m not sure that we have the firepower to-- I’ve got incoming contacts.” His voice dropped.

“What? From where?” Teu took a few steps forward, looking out of the viewport as if she could see the incoming craft.

“Unknown, sir. Not from one of our worlds.”

“Reinforcements?” She wondered aloud, as three bright flashes of light signaled the arrival of new capital ships that tore out of hyperspace neatly adjacent to the two Star Destroyers pounding her fleet. The lead craft of the trio was nearly as large as one of the Imperial IIs and bristled with weapon emplacements, while the other two were escorting Destroyers, akin to Victories… but they weren’t of Imperial design.

Immediately, the trio of ships began blasting the Destroyer that had been focusing on her cruiser, dozens of high powered heavy turbolasers slamming into its lateral shield grids. The Imperials took a few seconds to react, but when they did the fire against her vessel suddenly ceased, as the Destroyers turned to try to deal with the new arrivals. Squads of starfighters, having jumped out with their command vessel, immediately began swarming the Destroyer, launching torpedos. The cruiser’s communications crackled to life.

“RS Forces, this is Admiral Cruz of the Ascension, it seems you could use some assistance.” The jocular tone made Teu laugh aloud, even while her cruiser was barely holding itself together.

“Ascension,” Teu repeated. She knew where they’d come from now. She smiled. “Glad to have you, but you’re a little late.”

“Fashionably late,” Admiral Cruz’ voice filled the air again. “Apologies, we were at another hot spot… you know how things are going.”

Teu frowned, she did know.

-=Rebel Squadrons High Command Chambers, Tarsonis, Three Days Prior=-

“The situation at Aurora is becoming more precarious every day.” Admiral Hawkins glared at the various commanders seated around the large conference table. “Titan forces have begun probing the outer defenses and are using small fleets to blockade various hyper routes into and out of the system. Intelligence expects that they will commence a full invasion within the next month. I’ve spoken with the Fleet Commander.” He looked over at Cyrel Vandroth, who nodded in return. “And he’s decided to dispatch Task Force Shochu and Brigadier General Veld’s command to Aurora to take control of the outer defensive ring. The General has extensive experience, and we suspect her help will be invaluable.”

Striking a control on the holoprojector with his palm, it showed the Aurora sector in its entirety.

“We’ve lost control of over half of the sector, and Titan is beginning to encircle the capital world. If she falls, so does the sector. We can’t allow that to happen, as that would open Greeop to direct attacks, and we cannot afford another Blerthmore.” He reminded High Command of the last Imperial invasion of the homefront, where the original command dome had been destroyed, along with the vast majority of the fleet.

“We’ve reached out to enlist the help of some of our allies,” he looked over at Commander Aisha Dakari, a former Allegiance Battle Group member who now controlled her own small militia and fleet. “The Chevalier d'Almacia has been gracious enough to offer their direct assistance, and have been striking at Titan assets for some time. We will be calling on them when the Battle for Aurora begins. For now they’re assisting us in trying to root out our mole problem… Which, among us, I believe we’re close to finding the culprit.”

That statement brought a few murmurs to the table. The mole had caused tremendous damage to the RS through leaking intelligence and false information, discovering his or her identity would be a big boost to the fleet’s morale, and their ability to operate without worrying about constant ambush.

“With the help of Operations and Logistics, we’ve put together a defensive plan for Aurora.” He adjusted the display again, showing friendly fleet assets around Aurora itself, along with its planetary defenses. “The Patriot Battle Group will be deployed like this....”

Josh went on with his briefing for some time, and answered the usual questions before the meeting was dismissed. Everyone left with the same impression:

That the next few months would dictate the entire tide of their conflict against the Titan fleet.

I had a good laugh with 'Admiral Cruz'. Timing is everything, I suppose.
