RSCD NL 08-06-02

Welcome back to your favorite RSCD NL. The big news for the week was already announced yesterday, so for now I'll just be updating everyone on results for the past few events and handing out a few awards and promotions.

------------------------------------------

JO WoW-

Everyone should have gotten the notice awhile back, but as a reminder the Jedi Outcast Week of War is going on now and will continue on till the 9th. Those interested in playing are invited to head over to www.battlestats.com. The pilots did an extremly good job for the RS in XWA, so it would be nice if we could make a nice showing as well.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

House Reminder-

By now everyone should have received the announcement that the Houses are active and now taking members. A number of people have already responded, but I just wanted to remind everyone that we'll need everyone to be placed in a House before a number of upcoming events can take place. I'd like to have responses from everyone within the next week, so if you haven't chosen a house please do so as soon as possible. As an added note, those of you who are only a member of the Katarns don't need to worry about choosing a house at this time. Hope that clears up some of the confusion.

Some of us sure seem to love rematches, which can be clearly seen in the results from the week of the 21st. Only one match this past week, which is something I hope we can work on. Hopefully, the awards section later on in the NL will prompt a few more people to get out there and play ;) Remember, Melee matches can be played against another member at any time night or day in JK/JO between Monday-Saturday of each week. Once completed, send a result of the match to rscdmelee@hotmail.com so that it can be recorded.

The RS as a whole is continuing to do well, but I'm a little concerned with the dropoff we seem to be experiencing in our own participation. There's plenty of people from other clubs there each week to play and with the hours being extended recently there's not any problem in finding people to play. ORW2's just around the corner, so we need to get practice in now before the results start to really count. Still, I'm quite pleased with the way everyone who is playing has been doing lately. Also, congratulations go out to LCM Arill Wiltker of Raven Squad this week for picking up his first win at the Inter-Club Melee. For those who didn't know, the Inter-Club melee takes place each Saturday from 2-7pm EST in #OuterRim on the Undernet.

Awards-

For participating in the greatest number of Melee matches during the month of July, CMDR Isoldur "Dragon" Cauthon is hereby awarded the RSCD Hoth Medal of Endevaor.

For coming away with the most wins during the month of July, VA Kaz Falcion is hereby awarded the Bronze Star.

The following Commandos have been awarded the RSCD Combat Citation to represent their first combat against members of another club.

Jon Anchorage
Creelo Ne'Raki

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Promotions-

For outstanding performance in both the RSCD and Inter-Club Melee, and for his great activity overall, Creelo Ne'Raki is hereby promoted to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.

Congratulations to Creelo and everyone who received a medal for this month!

------------------------------------------------

Closing-

Remember, there's still a whole month ahead of us before the monthly medals will be awarded again, so everyone's got plenty of time to get matches played and try to earn one. There's plenty of opportunities to stay active right now, and there'll only be more to come once everyone's situated in a House. If all else fails and you need something to do, come find me and I'll find something, even if it's just seeing if you can make it all the way to the cafeteria while Gambit chases you with a stick. Next NL will be out once everyone's chosen a House, so stay tuned as it should be a very special edition :)
