My B-Wing moved towards the imperial STD. The tactical map showed an alarming number of fighters, so I decided to slow down so as not to be alone on my planned head-in attack on the bombers. When the range shrank, the TIE formations came into view. The bombers were flying so densely I decided to use a proton torpedo on my first attack. I had no time to waste as the range was getting smaller with every second. I targeted the middle Bomber and with a flick of a switch I activated the proton torpedoes guidance system and launched a torpedo. The damage was catastrophic; The TIE pilots were flying so close to one another that the detonation destroyed at least 6 bombers! Gratified, I jinked to avoid some TIE interceptor fire and started to dance with them, damn, these things are shielded! Well, at least I pack a big punch with my ion and laser cannons combined. When my tail was clear I headed towards the STD. I'm flying a B-Wing after all, that's what it's supposed to do, right? I fired a salvo of torpedoes towards one of the shield generators and flew past the aft of the ship, climbing to avoid its engine wash. Checking my targeting system and cycled through the STD components - Damn! The torpedoes didn't even damage the generators. At least I'm not the only one attacking it... I started to strafe it with laser and ion fire with the help of other friendly fighters until it succumbed. The other STD was destroyed as well, and all that was left was a single TIE interceptor, who was maniacally maneuvering to avoid the fire of ALL the New Republic fighters. I almost felt sorry for the pilot that realized he doesn't have any mothership to return to, and all he can do is fight to his death. I ended his suffering with a burst of lasers and watched his ship disintegrating as I flew past the explosion.
