It was time to get back in the pilot seat. Rebel Squadrons were abuzz with a new campaign starting up, and he wasn't going to miss out on its beginning, particularly not after the medal medley ceremony held not too long ago. It seemed like everybody got some nice decorations, and the shiny medals are always good encouragement.

For anyone wondering of his disappearance in the past couple weeks, he went off scouting the galaxy exhaustively, mostly visiting the key locations where the heroes of the former Alliance once roamed. During his adventures, he got into fights with all walks of life, even getting his hands bashed in by a couple Tusken Raiders.

Here he was, back in the briefing room, feeling confident he has fully recovered from his adventures. He already passed off his exhaustive report to his superiors, and he was starting to miss his A-Wing. This time, it seemed like everybody got beams equipped onto their ships, which meant no hot-wiring would be needed of him. "Yay!"

So off he went, launching once again, and everyone going as fast as they could. But once the A-Wing squad was in the middle sector...Silence.

Buzzing around was eerie as the rest of the transports were dancing around one another, trying to not crash into anyone. It was messy at first, but they got straightened out. That's when the Star Destroyer showed up.

The A-Wing pilots were a bit sluggish in moving to engage, but at least Jay stayed back far enough so he wasn't the epicenter of all the enemy attention. It was nice, really, picking them off at range and creaming TIEs while they weren't close enough to react. It wasn't that they were out of range, but their pilots are trained to shoot closer than immediately.

Bombarding the star destroyer with warheads was a lot of fun, especially since the shield generators could still be destroyed even with its shields up. It didn't take much more to finish it off.

But, TIE Bombers were wailing on one or two transports off 9 klicks from where Jay was at. After finally catching up to them, he winced from the cramps in his hands catching up to him. Swiveling and pulling the trigger wasn't helping him, but he managed to knock off the bombers anyway.

With the marauder corvette off in the distance, the X-Wings managed with ease. Then, back to boredom for a few minutes. And then a Drednaught showed up, with another small batch of fighters. By now, it was rinse and repeat.

And then the longest 10 minutes of his career started, when the last 2 capital ships had to crawl all the way to the jump point. It was perfectly uneventful all the way to the finish from here.
