Like with the rest of the missions, this one also seemed routine: fly in, pull off some stupid hijinks to attract attention, then leave if possible. The briefing was brief, with a basic hit and fade on twin platforms. Upon launching, Jay puzzled over the blatantly obvious:

"If all we're supposed to do is drop these shields and hit the hull some...Then since the fleet's with us, why couldn't they do the hard work for us?" Left alone with 4 wingmen that did nothing more than buzz around a square wasn't his idea of fun, more like a homework assignment. Aside from a few close shaves, one of which smashed his shield gauges, the entire 90 standard minutes grew dull - fast. It was just rinse and repeat, shoot until the shields couldn't take another pounding and pull out as fast as possible, while hoping none of the enemy shots breached the hull any worse.

At the end of the day, a frigate came in, which would've been basically the same deal. By now, Jay might as well head home. The mission was a success, but it's not like him to pull out without overachieving. It's also not like him to sit around a leaking cockpit for over an hour fighting a one-sided battle stacked against him, either. At least his Jedi masters noted the merit for patience, even though the irritation showed upon debriefing. Jay restrained himself out of respect for the chain of command, yet he couldn't remain silent when vocalizing his displeasure.

So what's next on his chopping block? One final flight to go through, particularly one where there's been some...technical bugs, fatal flaws, possibly overload. Somehow, he'd just have to overcome that...
