Rebel Squadrons
ITOD: IBG 102: Shipyard Strike

Briefing
  • While you were away on the last mission, our scouts were continuing to probe deeper into Imperial territory. One of them reported finding a previously unknown TIE manufacturing facility which appears to be producing the latest generation ships, both TIE Advanceds and TIE Defenders. If the SSD's in the Imperial sector fleet are equipped with these fighters instead of the usual Fighters, Bombers, and Interceptors it would more than triple their firepower. This facility MUST be destroyed. Unfortunately the convoy attack has alerted the Imperials to the fact that a strong New Republic force is in the area, and they are beginning a systematic search of the sector. The rest of the fleet has already moved to a new assembly point several light years away, and we will return there after this mission. The Imps have also increased defences at all key facilities, so we expect major resistance in this mission. We cannot discount the possibility that you will face T/A's and T/D's based on the manufacturing platform. Due to the expected resistance at the target area, a large strike force will be used. The CRS Liberty will lead the group, which will also include the FRG's Trimma and Swift, the A/FRG Vigilant, the STRKC Asard, and the ESC Unity. Since it is likely that we will encounter both TIE Advanced and TIE Defenders, our heavy attack fighters (B-Wing Blue), will remain aboard the ESC until sufficient fighters have been destroyed to make it safe for them to launch. At least two Interdictor cruisers are known to be nearby. It is doubtful that they will arrive without escort, but if they do, ATR Garrda will attempt to board and capture it. A-W Gold will fly cover if needed.
