FAQ & Tools
bCAD is a fairly simplistic 3D rendering program that is used by many 3D artists. It is simplistic because it has a very limited amount of funcions that it can perform and sometimes performing these functions can be no easy task. The bar above links to the bCAD site where you can download a free evaluation copy of bCAD. This evaluation copy is fully funcional except that it cannot save more than 32 objects at a time. If you would rather not bother with the bCAD site, the files that are on that site are linked to here: -Download bCAD for Windows 95 (2.3MB) -Download bCAD for DOS (634KB) -Download the bCAD Tutorial Files (1.2MB) When you install the bCAD Tutorial Files, the installation utility will create a number of bCAD sample files and a .hlp file (a windows help file). Simply double-click on the help file and proceed from there.
The questions stated here aren't really frequently asked questions, considering no one ever asks them, but there are things that the general public should know. Q: What is the exact purpose of Rebellion Images, Inc? A: The purpose of Rebellion Images, Inc. is to create quality 3D graphics (mainly in the form of logos and banners) for Star Wars based sites all across the internet. If an image is required by a site, the person(s) wanting the image goes to the Requests page and puts the required information in an e-mail. Q: What is the waiting time between the time a request is made to the time that the image is completed? A: The time between the point where the request is made and the point where RII has a finished product of the requested image may very. Depending on the current number of requests being processed by RII, the image could take anywhere from one week to over a month. For example, if RII was doing the majority of the graphics for a recently acquired 250 MB internet domain, most other requests other than the domain would be stopped until the domain project was complete. Q: Why is there a link to the Compucor Webring at the bottom of the mainpage? A: The RII page was originally made by Marcus Dickinson, President of Compucor Canada. He created the page and the RII theme song MIDI. The original design for his page is no longer in use, however, his theme song remains, and so does the link to the webring. Q: What is the SWMA? A: SWMA is the Star Wars 3D Modelling Alliance. Massive amounts of 3D Star Wars images are found here, as well as 3D Models (wireframes), textures, and animations. Q: Why can't I download and use images in the Fleet Downloads section if I am not using the images for a Rebel Squadrons Homepage? A: People that are not using the Fleet Downloads images for Rebel Squadrons based pages are not allowed to use them because RII is a smaller club located within the Rebel Squadrons. When we (RII) were asked to do the Rebel Squadrons domain images, we were also asked to make a large archive of images that could be downloaded by any member of the Fleet to be placed on their Rebel Squadrons page. Q: May I ask the leaders of the club for help with my artwork? A: Uh-huh. Q: Why weren't my requests getting through to RII before 2/9/98? A: Most of the links to the graphics@rebelsquadrons.org e-mail address that mails the three leaders of the club were pointing to graphics@republicshield.com. That problem is fixed now. Sorry for the difficulty. Q: What are all the annoying banners on the mainpage doing there? A: The banners are part of the sponsorship for this page. Each time you click on one of the banners, it goes to pay the cost of the webspace that this page takes up, so every once in a while, give them a click and then hit the "back" button to get right back to our page, it only takes a few seconds...or you can browse around their pages, it's up to you. |
